    Keloid (Face Verruca Wart)

    General Introduction

    Keloid ( Face Verruca wart ) is pathologic change produced by hyperplasis of the connective tissue. It is as known as scar tumour. It is characterized by hyperplastic scar tissue on the affected part. This discase is called “ rou gui chuang “ and “ ju hen chuang “ ( Keloid, Face Verruca Wart ) in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

    MAIN POINTS OF DIAGNOSIS

    1. The skin lesion is mostly seen on the front of face, chest and other parts. It may be primary or secondary or due to burning, operation and skin infection, such as acne and wart.
    2. The skin lesion is red or reddish brown, grey or grayish. It is hard and hyrerplastically projected. These may be verrucous projections along its edge. The capillarectasia on the surface of the affected skin may be present. The affected skin appears lack of hair and it is not adhesive to subcutaneous tissue. In case it attacks on joints, it can cause difficulty in movement.
    3. The patient has a light sensation itch. The cause of disease is chronic.
