    Chloasma

    General Introduction

    Chloasma is a skin disease of pigment degeneration with limited yellowish brown or light brown pigmentation on the face. In TCM it is called “mian chen” (dusty complexion) “li hei ban” and “li hei yan zhen” (chloasma).

    MAIN POINTS OF DIAGNOSIS

    1. There is yellowish brown or light brown pigmentation on the face. Its border may be clear or indistinct. The spots often occur on cheeks and also on the forehead and nose. The sizes of them are different and they often occur symmetrically.
    2. There is no subjective symptom.
    3. It is common among women in puberty, pegnancy and climacterium. It has a chronic course.
